Iron Curtain Call is a fast-paced first-person shooter drawn in the style of rubber hose cartoons and set in an absurd alternate 1965, where World War III is run by a customer service AI and fought by armies of wind-up robots. Combat rewards aggression: punching robots restores health, prying them open yields ammunition and setting them on fire builds armor, while double jumps, air dashes, a grappling hook and parries keep the player moving through its arenas. The campaign spans twelve chapters, each aimed at a satirical target of the Cold War era and closed by a theatrical boss, from a game show studio and a carnival election to a world's fair and a moon base. Its arsenal treats diplomacy as a weapon, with a shotgun called the Diplomat, a typewriter, a rotary telephone and a cash register among its guns.

Storyline

In 1965 humanity has run out of soldiers, so the war is fought with wind-up robots and managed by an automated service that keeps every complaint on hold. Corporal Punishment, a silent soldier and the only one Allied Command could afford to send, arrives in the ruined town of Rubbleton with Colonel Panic on the radio and the Supreme Chancellor on every loudspeaker. From there his campaign leads through a toy factory, a television station, a rigged election, a frozen capital and beyond, each run by a boss who has turned the war into a business, a broadcast or a sales pitch.
